Introduction To Whitehall College |
|
|
Whitehall Performing Arts College is an independent Further Education College for the Performing Arts.
Based in Southend on Sea in Essex, our new and spacious college site is ideally situated for student life: combining close proximity to London with its shops, theatres, cinemas, TV studios etc, with the fun of a traditional seaside town.
Combined with dance and recording studios with video editing facilities, the site also boasts a purpose built 180 seat theatre. Equipped with state of the art computerised lighting, professional sound and image projection systems and one of the largest independently owned cinema screens in the country, the theatre is able to host professional performances throughout the year. In common with other innovative aspects of our approach, Whitehall leads, others follow.
We first opened our doors in 1991 at ‘The White Hall’, an Art Deco building in Westcliff on Sea, from which the college takes its name. In 1994 the Whitehall Agency was established, and very soon gained a reputation within the dance industry for exceptionally high standards. Success followed success and today the agency has a well established reputation and enjoys close working relationships with casting directors and production companies in many fields of the business.
Our aim at Whitehall Performing Arts College is to provide broad-based musical theatre training, enabling students to confidently enter the world of professional performing arts with highly developed skills. This has proven to be the case, as our students have had a 100% success rate in obtaining professional work in the performing arts.
