Looking After You At Whitehall College |
|
|
We are very proud of our team of highly qualified, experienced and well-respected professionals, who strive to maintain high standards of teaching. Many of our staff are seasoned performers and are thus able to give students a genuine insight into the world of professional theatre, offering invaluable advice and counselling. Senior members of our teaching faculty have the responsibility of tutoring a particular Year Group and students are encouraged to share with them any concerns they may have regarding their progress and development.
Medical
All students coming from outside the area will need to register with a general medical practitioner locally. A list of surgeries in the area can be supplied on request. All students are expected to supply a doctor’s note if they are absent for three or more days. The college will then contact the parent/guardian to ensure that they are aware of the situation. Record of absences are kept on file.
Body Conditioning
Compulsory daily classes are taken to loosen and strengthen the body and to aid proprioceptive awareness of basic dance moves.
Physiotherapy
All diploma students undertake a Physiotherapy assessment at the beginning of the first term. Recommendations and advice is given to prevent injuries or correct weaknesses.
Accommodation
Whitehall has a list of local families who will accommodate students. We are aware of how important the right accommodation is to a student, especially if this is the first time away from home, and many of those who have offered to welcome our students into their home, are families whose young members also take part in the performing arts.
